WhatsApp integration in our custom software
Attek Solutions GmbH, Schulstr. 19, 13347 Berlin, develops and operates custom software for businesses. If a client wants a WhatsApp integration, we provide it through our Meta app. Which messages an application sends depends on the project, for example offers, invoices or reminders to that client's customers. The business concerned is the controller of this data. We process it on its behalf (Art. 28 GDPR).
Connecting the account
The business connects its WhatsApp Business account by signing in with Meta. We do not receive the Meta password. We store the IDs of the account and the phone number, the number and the display name, and an access token, which is stored in encrypted form.
Stored data
Depending on the application, we store the recipient's name and mobile number, the time of their consent, sent messages with text and documents, their message ID and time of sending, and notices of undelivered messages. We store incoming messages only if the application concerned provides for it.
Data not stored
If a number is used together with the WhatsApp Business app, Meta transmits the chat history, the contacts and the messages written in the app to our interface, both on connecting and during operation. We receive this data and discard it without storing it. If a recipient unsubscribes via WhatsApp, we remove their consent.
Recipients
Messages are delivered through the WhatsApp Business Platform of WhatsApp Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland. Data may be transferred to WhatsApp LLC and Meta Platforms, Inc. in the USA. The basis for this is the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Retention
Sent messages and documents form part of the records of the business concerned and are deleted according to its instructions and the statutory retention periods.
Deletion and contact
To request deletion of your data, contact the business that sent you the messages, or email info@attek.eu. We carry out your request on its behalf or forward it to the business.
